    week #7 ½: the artist
so on actual valentine’s day i went to los angeles to see ‘the artist’. wow, what a 360 from ‘the vow’. although the primary focus of the film isn’t love, there is a sweet underlying tone that’s just enough for the audience. despite being black and white the actors (jean dujardin and berenice bejo) bring the story to live through their facial expressions and their movements. it was a classic image, the wardrobe was fantastic. i loved every singly one of peppy’s outfits. she was completely adorable. george looked sharp, always in a tuxedo and bow tie. it really makes you want to jump into a time traveling machine to go back to that time. it also makes me want to learn how to tap dance. this was the superior valentine’s day movie and i’m glad i had the chance to see it in los angeles. silent movies are dead but this little modern classic gives people a taste on true hollywood glamour.
